Loaves and Fishes

This is one of my favorite poems, I felt inclined to share it tonight:

Loaves and Fishes
by David Whyte

This is not
the age of information.

This is
not
the age of information.

Forget the news,
and the radio,
and the blurred screen.

This is the time
of loaves
and fishes.

People are hungry,
and one good word is bread
for a thousand.

Between Myanmar and China, 150,000 humans dead. And we sit and watch CNN lament gas prices.

It is as if each word you speak can feed thousands. you are like the fishes and loaves. your wisdom brings peace to those who hunger for truth.

Spicy Sister-
While my students are quietly taking a final exam, I have stumbled across your site. I have read your posts from way back and am stunned at how many fertility hurdles I have shared with you. I, too, go to CCRM/have Dr. M (who I also adore)/have been through the Clomid/3 IUI's and have almost completely lost my shit at times. It has been 2 solid years of waiting, hoping, squeezing out the last dregs of optimism for a "maybe this month is our month". None of my friends/family quite understand what a giant emotional undertaking this has been/will be. My supportive hubby and I have decided to go through with IVF (none of which is covered by our insurance-imagine that) this summer. We just got our "calendar" last week. It is scary and exciting, but mostly scary. I am afraid of defeat. Yet again. I have been reaching for hope and inspiration and it's been hard as hell to find.
I just wanted to thank you for your blog. Reading about your struggle AND your triumph (congrats!!) has given me something no friend, family member or even my husband can give me. thanks for posting your long strange trip. good luck with the rest of your journey!
